THE ANNUAL FORTY HOURS ADORATION OF THE BLESSED SACRAMENT takes place this Sunday and Monday 27th & 28th September.

God is with us in so many ways. The essential and central way that God is with us in our parish community is through His presence in the Eucharist. Every time Mass is offered we re-enact the saving and mysterious sacrifice of Christ on Calvary and we draw upon the grace and power of Christ who helps us every day and brings us to eternal peace in heaven.

The Eucharistic presence of Jesus in the Tabernacle makes our church a holy place and reminds us that we, the members of the Body of Christ, are called and anointed to be His presence in the world. The Forty Hours Eucharistic Adoration is a time of special celebration of this most sacred presence at the heart of our lives and at the centre of our parish. So let us avail of this precious opportunity to celebrate our many gifts and let us bring all our needs, sorrows and pain and ask for healing and renewal.

The Forty Hours begins at the end of the 12.30pm Mass today when the Sacred Host consecrated at the Mass will be exposed in the Monstrance all day. (There will be a pause in Eucharistic Adoration from 6pm-7pm today Sunday because of the St. Vincent De Paul Mass) Tomorrow the Host will remain on the altar after the morning Mass. Every member of the parish should take some time to come to the church and spend a short while with the Lord. There will be a half hour of prayer tonight from 9.30pm-10.00pm The Forty Hours will close tomorrow (Monday) with a half hour of prayer from 9.30pm and Benediction at 10.00pm.
